Case study: VAG-COM 805.1 failure to connect

Four cases about failure to connect VAG-COM 805.1 are as follows, and my success story are after the four cases. To make sure to finish reading it.

Case one: As I was reading true this forum I saw a few problems that looked like mine. Now I don't want to be rude by begging for stuff but this is one thing I really need a KICK in the right direction! This is my story; I bought a Hex-Can dongle ( 805.1 ) from some Chinese site. After install everything that’s ok, detection dongle ok RossTech vcds interface found! After doing some auto scan and deleting DTCs I turn off laptop. Next day try to rewrite some bits but unfortunately the Vag Com software was telling me THIS ACTION REQUIRES A REGISTRED INTERFACE. I did not logged to internet so I don’t know how this can be.

Case two: I read that there are some files sirulating in this forum to repair the cable? I am not lazy to search for things but as I read the threads I see some strange things like Pony atmel Eeprom?? Don’t know what this is: confused:. Please could someone be so kind to give me a kick in the right direction so I don’t have to resend my cable to China for repair!

Case three: I bought the cable Hex-CAN 805.1 installed it good. It worked for 2 times:mad: I did not connect to the internet and did not use a newer version of Vag Com at all;) Now it still work and it connects to computer and car but it say; Sorry This function requires a licensed interface:

Case four: I am also experiencing same problem as you are with the Chinese VAG COM 805.1.
It also gives the same error when I do a full-scan..

The reply to the above cases: You must use version 805.0, all Chinese clones work only with this firmware version, even though the cable casing is written 805.1 The screenshots show that the cable works 100%.

My answer to response the above-mentioned four cases: I am sorry to know some VAG-COM 805.1 sold by some retailers without A REGISTRED INTERFACE, but we can not include all products are genuine, and all products are fake, VAG COM 805.1 is a good example, some car users and repair workers buy the so called “Chinese Clone”, because they are cheap, the original ones are very expensive, they are beyond our pay, after all clones are not original, inevitably some clones are deceptive. My successful story to share here, one day I came across UOBD2-an online shop specializing in dealing in vag diagnostic tools as well as other professional diagnostic tools, and I ordered a VAG-COM 805.1, following the user setup steps, I connect successful and of course it did not ask me to have A REGISTRED INTERFACE.
